Milk Chocolate Fudge
It’s less than one week until National Fudge Day (Tuesday 16th June) and I’ve got a quick and easy fudge recipe that is guaranteed to be a hit with the whole family!
Fudge is the ultimate treat for anyone with a serious sweet tooth and if, like me, you’re a bit of a chocoholic too then you’re going to fall in love with this recipe. It’s smooth, it’s creamy and there’s plenty of divine chocolate flavour in every bitesize piece.
It’s also super easy to make and comes together in just 10 minutes. You’ll have to wait for the fudge to set of course, but if you really can’t wait, you can pour it over ice cream, add it to buttercream, or just eat it out of the bowl with a spoon…no judgement here!
I usually make my fudge with Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate, but you can use your favourite chocolate for this recipe.
INGREDIENTS
450g granulated sugar
185ml double cream
170g unsalted butter
400g milk chocolate
1 jar (213g) Marshmallow Fluff
1tsp vanilla extract
METHOD
- Line a 10×10 inch baking tin with baking paper. Chop up the milk chocolate (I use Cadbury Dairy Milk) into small chunks and add to a large bowl with the Marshmallow Fluff and vanilla extract.
- Add the sugar, cream and butter to a large saucepan. Stir over a medium heat until the butter has melted, then turn the heat up until the mixture begins to boil. Stir continuously for four minutes.
- Remove the mixture from the heat and slowly pour over the chocolate. Using a stand mixer or hand-held mixer, beat together until the chocolate has melted (this should only take around one minute).
- Quickly pour the fudge into your prepared baking tin and spread evenly. Refrigerate for at least four hours – preferably overnight – to allow the fudge to set. Cut into bitesize pieces and enjoy!
If you’re not serving your fudge straight away or if you have any leftovers, you can keep it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks. This fudge also freezes really well, and you can keep it in the freezer for up to three months.
